Bahrain has called on Iran to cease attacks after it fired ballistic missiles towards US bases in Bahrain and Kuwait.

The attacks were intercepted, but Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry described them as a “serious escalation”.
The US military says it has struck some of Iran’s coastal radar sites in response, saying the action was “to defend against further attacks”.
Earlier in the week, Iranian drones heavily damaged a passenger terminal at Kuwait’s main airport, killing one person - although Iran denied that attack.
Meanwhile in Lebanon, where Israel’s action against the Hezbollah militant group continues, an Israeli strike in the south of the country has killed three members of the Lebanese army, prompting an angry response from the government in Beirut.
