We’ve had an exclusive first look at the new Lexus NX. Lexus has given its hybrid premium SUV a substantial update for 2026 – but what's changed, and is it enough to keep the Audi Q5 and BMW X3 at bay?
In this video, we get up close with the new NX 450h+ – winner of our Plug-in Hybrid of the Year award in 2022 and 2023 – ahead of the order books opening in October.

• Real-world range: how the larger 23kWh battery lifts the NX 450h+'s electric range to a claimed 62 miles – more than the BMW X3 and equal to the Audi Q5 e-hybrid
• Charging: the new-found ability to rapid charge from 10-80% in around half an hour, plus a 1500-watt socket in the boot
• Design: the frameless spindle grille, new adaptive LED headlights and L-shaped light signature
• Interior: forged bamboo trim, a 14in infotainment screen across the range, and a "sensory concierge" complete with an aroma generator
• Practicality: rear passenger space and boot capacity
• Performance: power up from 288hp to 303hp in the plug-in hybrid, dropping the 0-60mph time
