New NHS figures published today show the waiting list for hospital treatments in England continues to rise.

An estimated 7.37 million treatments were waiting to be carried out at the end of August, up from 7.33 million at the end of July.
The numbers are the highest since this time last year, when the list stood at 7.4 million treatments.
The number of people waiting more than 12 hours in A&E departments in England - so-called corridor care - stood at more than 50,000 last month, up from just under 45,000 in August.
