Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar has announced the closure of the British consulate in Jerusalem.

The move comes in response to the UK’s decision to sanction goods from illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.
After announcing the closure of the consulate , Sa'ar said further countermeasures would be taken including barring a number of MPs from entering Israel, as well as not baring the UK from participating in the US-led Gaza coordination mission in Israel.
