A record 230 people have crossed the English Channel on a single boat, the largest number to make the journey on one vessel.

The dinghy arrived in the UK on Saturday. The Home Office condemned the "reckless and dangerous tactics" of criminal gangs which it said continued to put lives at risk by cramming people onto unseaworthy vessels.
