Chalkdust Torture is one of the more approachable Phish songs to learn, and it's a great one to pull out in a jam setting. The main riff is built around E to A, and there's a bluesy Hendrix-flavored bend on the third fret E string that gives it just enough grit to feel really satisfying to play.
The song also has sections that stretch out and breathe, so it lends itself naturally to improvising around the riff. If you're into the Dead and Phish world and love jamming with friends, this one fits right in!
