
How proposed legislation could impact Reform’s £72m donations
Reform UK says its record donations announced this weekend come without any promise of reward for the donors and the £72m bump is within the law.

But the party may want to wait before spending any of it.
The government says that new legislation, going to the House of Lords next week, would see donations to political parties from Britons living abroad, or who have returned to the UK in the last 12 months, capped at 100,000-a-year.
And, crucially, the rules could be backdated to March.
