Britain’s youth crisis: growing up in poverty increases NEET likelihood

There are nearly one million 16-24 year olds not in education, employment or training in Britain - commonly known as NEETs.
Now exclusive analysis given to Channel 4 News shows that young people who grew up in deprivation are much more likely to become NEET and will stay that way for much longer too.
It is certainly a tough landscape for them all, but for some the odds may have been stacked against them long before they left school.
New analysis by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation reveals that growing up in persistent poverty can triple the likelihood of becoming NEET and make it much harder to escape.
