New standards for school dinners will mean no more deep fried food and an increase in the amount of fruit and veg being offered to pupils. The new regime, which will come into force next year, will mean cake will only be on the menu once a week in primary schools and twice a week in secondary schools. And for the first time school breakfast clubs will have to follow nutrition rules too.
