How to Hit the Heavy Bag Properly (So It will not Swing)
https://youtu.be/N_RKWFsl14g
Want to fix your boxing techniques and learn exactly how to hit the heavy bag without making boxing mistakes? In this video, Olympic medalist Tony Jeffries watches subscriber training videos and breaks down the most common boxing mistakes beginners make in the gym.
Watch a pro boxer react to heavy bag workouts, shadow boxing, and home gym setups. While some of the guys show great speed and power, almost all of them are making fundamental errors that will get them countered in a real fight.
Whether you are doing boxing for beginners or just trying to look better on the heavy bag at your local fitness gym, the coaching advice in this video will instantly level up your skills.
Top Boxing Techniques & Tips You Will Learn:
-Stop throwing "bent arm" shots: The jab is the most important punch in boxing; you must fully extend your arm to get maximum range and power.
-Control the heavy bag: Stop slapping the bag to make it swing wildly. Time your punches to hit the bag as it comes back toward you to stop it in its tracks.
-Keep your chin tucked: Never lift your chin in the air, especially when throwing an uppercut, or you will lose your balance and leave yourself exposed.
-Stop switching stances: If you are a beginner, do not constantly switch between orthodox and southpaw. Pick your natural stance and master it.
-Move your head: Do not be a stationary target. Add feints and head movement between your punches.
