What would you do if someone attacked your family? In this video, I hit the boardwalk at Venice Beach for real street interviews and asked a simple but serious self defense question, “If someone tried to attack your family, what would you do?” The responses I got were raw, real, and all over the place, from bike throwing to overhand rights, street defense tactics, and full on fight instincts.
How to Throw a Punch in a Fight
https://youtu.be/QMxN1BSbTJU
As an Olympic boxer, I know how powerful it is to stay calm and calculated under pressure. But out here on the street, people rely on instinct, and that is what makes this video both powerful and eye opening. One guy said he would grab his bike and throw it straight at an attacker’s face, creative and brutal. Over and over, people told me they would go for the overhand right, straight to the chin.
Some mentioned footwork, kicks, or slams, anything to keep their loved ones safe.
Others admitted they would panic or were not sure how they would react, that honesty matters too.
We also asked a classic question, would you rather fight one big guy or two little guys? Their answers were surprisingly strategic. Big guys get tired faster, little guys might be scrappier, and some folks said, “bring anyone, I am ready.”
But this video is not just for laughs. It shows why basic self defense skills and simple self defense tips are so important, not just for fighting but for confidence and awareness. Some people I met had done a bit of boxing or jiu jitsu, others had no training at all. But most agreed that learning how to throw a punch is something everyone should know.
Key themes from this video:
• real people’s street fight mentality
• quick thinking in self defense scenarios
• the psychology of protection and instinct
• how martial arts and boxing can improve your confidence
• why boxing training matters even if you never enter a ring
• street fight self defense awareness
At the end of the video, I share why learning how to throw a proper punch is essential, not because you are looking for a fight but because you never know when you will need to protect yourself or someone you love. This is not about ego or violence. It is about preparation, confidence, and having control in moments that count.
If you have ever wondered how you would act in a real life confrontation or you want to see how everyday people react under pressure, this one is for you.
And if you want to learn how to throw a proper punch the right way, I have a full breakdown in the next video. Watch it now. It might change the way you think about fighting forever.
