One highlight features a brutal left hook knockout that leaves a fighter out cold. Tony breaks down the boxing technique behind that KO, analyzing how the puncher generated tremendous power by punching through the target and rotating his body, even while leaning back, which normally reduces power. His commentary shows how proper rotation and follow through can turn a single punch into a fight ending blow. Tony does not hide his amazement at the power punching on display. Heavyweight boxing is truly dangerous when one shot can drop someone.
Safety in boxing is another big theme here. Tony reacts to a clip about mouthguard safety and explains the importance of using the right mouthguard for boxing. He compares a basic upper only mouthpiece to a full coverage guard, noting that the full guard absorbs impact better across the jaw. Tony even shows the custom double mouthguard he used in the Olympics. Under MMA rules, a boxer is in serious trouble unless they land a quick knockout. He references the James Toney versus Randy Couture fight as proof that an MMA fighter will take a boxer down rather than stand and trade punches.
Tony’s boxing fitness critique continues when he reacts to a viral “Instagram boxing coach” clip full of flashy, over the top pad drills. He laughs and calls it “ridiculous,” explaining how some trainers do all the work while their clients develop poor form. He emphasizes realistic training and proper mittwork so boxers can build real skill rather than depend on showy movement.
