I punched for 24 hours straight in an attempt to break a Guinness World Record — and this is the story of my Guinness World Record journey. But early on, I realised my fitness wasn’t ready for that kind of challenge. I needed to find a way to build up my boxing fitness so I could survive the training, let alone the attempt itself.

To make the long, repetitive sessions more bearable, I redesigned my boxing training routine. I mixed in heavy bag work, endurance drills, and used Thrill of the Fight 2 in VR to stay sharp and engaged when the straight-punch workouts became mentally draining. I also worked on my recovery, nutrition, and got valuable advice from Jay Alderton, a UK Guinness World Record holder whose insights helped shape my strategy.
On the day of the record, every punch had to be counted manually — so I had to bring in people just to track them hour by hour. I started strong and felt great through the early part of the attempt, but around hour 12, I hit a wall. My shoulders were burning, my lower back started to ache with every movement, and my hands were swollen — I struggled to bring them back to my face.
I found strength in the people around me — my kids, my wife, and everyone who showed up. In the moments I felt like quitting, they reminded me why I started.
