How a Kort Nozzle Generates Its Own Thrust

The nozzle does more than manage propeller flow. Low pressure on its inside surface and higher pressure outside can pull the duct forward, producing thrust in its own right.
By drawing a greater mass of water through the propeller, the nozzle also makes the propeller’s job a little easier.
