Nomadic Mild Collides With Atlantic Venus
Nomadic Mild’s master tried to use engines and thrusters to control the vessel, but the anchors still in the water made the ship almost impossible to manoeuvre. Even slackening the anchor cables did not turn the bow away.
At 16:55, Nomadic Mild’s port side collided with Atlantic Venus’s bulbous bow. The added force pulled both ships toward a chemical terminal only 200 metres away.
