How an Aerofoil Nozzle Creates Thrust
Inside the nozzle, the curved aerofoil face points toward the water flowing through the duct. The propeller draws water through it, creating circulation around the nozzle wall.
That circulation makes pressure lower on the inner face and higher on the outside, pulling the nozzle forward. A plain cylinder would influence the flow, but would produce far less useful thrust.
