Why Liquefied Cargo Can Capsize a Vessel
When a vessel heels, liquefied cargo flows toward the lower side. That shifts the ship’s centre of gravity away from its centreline and weakens its ability to right itself.
Dynamic separation is a related problem: slurry moves across the top while larger particles are washed and piled to one side. Across several holds, those shifts can synchronise, creating a serious list and a rapid capsize risk.
